Program:  Lectio Divina is prayerful reading of Scripture.  In Lectio Divina, we listen to Scripture with the ear of our heart (Rule of Benedict).  This method of prayer leads us to a deepening relationship with God.  As we encounter Christ and reflect on His word, our minds and hearts open to the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit within us.  Come and learn this way of prayer.

INTRODUCTION  TO  CENTERING  PRAYER  WORKSHOP

Program:   Centering Prayer is waiting upon God with loving openness, fulfilling the Scriptural invitation “Be still and know that I am God” (Ps. 46:10).  “Centering Prayer is a movement beyond conversation to communion with Christ.  It accustoms us to the language of God which is silence.” (Fr. Thomas Keating).  The workshop will include presentations,  discussions, and the practice of Centering Prayer.  In addition to the Saturday program, the presenters will schedule follow-up video teaching by Fr. Keating along with the opportunity to experience Centering Prayer more deeply.

Program:  This retreat cultivates a more profound level of spiritual practice in an atmosphere of silence, solitude and community.  Fr. Thomas Keating’s teachings, Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, and the opportunity to meet with retreat staff are included in the retreat.  The daily practice of Centering Prayer for at least 6 months is recommended as a prerequisite.
